Dental sedation in Kirkland, Washington, is a great product that will help you finally relax in the dental chair. This is a beneficial tool that will help you if you are terrified of the dental office and everything associated with it. Generally, there are three different types of sedation that are commonly used in the world today, and those three types are:

-Oral sedation: Oral sedation comes in the form of a pill. You will take the pill orally about an hour before your appointment. Depending on the dose given, you will feel drowsy, groggy, and you may even fall asleep while you are at our office. This sedative will help you finally feel safe in the hands of the dentist.

-Nitrous oxide sedation: Nitrous oxide is a light, flavored gas that you will inhale through the nostrils. When you come in for your appointment, your dentist will place a small mask over your nose and will ask you to deeply inhale for a few minutes. As time passes by, you will feel tingly and light-headed. The effects will only last until the mask is taken off your nose.

-IV sedation: IV sedation is a strong sedative that is typically used when you need extensive dental treatment, like oral surgery. This drug will enter your veins through an IV and will send you into a deep sleep. Once your treatment is completed, you will wake up and you won’t remember anything about your appointment.

Even though these sedatives are commonly used, that doesn’t mean that we offer all of them at our office. So, if you would like to know which sedation your dentist, Dr. Danlu Lee & Wendy Yeung, offers at Radiant Smiles Family Dentistry, please feel free to call (425) 828.9721 and ask a member of our helpful dental team. We look forward to hearing from you!
